Black Powder Firearms

 Black Powder Firearms are considered antique firearms, the possession of a black powder firearm by a person subject to federal firearms disabilities is not prohibited by the GCA. However, a person subject to federal firearms disabilities may not receive and/or possess black powder firearms that can be readily converted to fire fixed ammunition by replacing the barrel, bolt, breechblock, or any combination thereof which are classified as "firearms." Additionally, state law may prohibit the possession of a black powder firearm by persons who are not federally prohibited from possessing them. Please contact your state's Attorney General’s Office for information regarding black powder firearms.

 It is ultimately the buyer’s responsibility to fully understand all Federal, State and Local Laws, Restrictions and Prohibitions regarding the purchase and possession of Black Powder Firearms. While our best effort has been given to list which states and locales have restrictions, please be aware this list is not comprehensive.

 Black Powder Firearms cannot be shipped directly to Canada, Washington D.C., Massachusetts, Hawaii, Rhode Island, New York, Delaware, or New Jersey.

California: We will not ship Black Powder Firearms to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Santa Ana, Berkeley, Tiburon, Carson, Los Angeles, Sacramento, Oakland, Orange County, Marin County, Loyo County, Contra Costa County, Ventura County, or Napa County, except to an FFL dealer. We encourage all buyers to review your local regulations for all other locations before ordering. It is ultimately the buyer’s responsibility to be aware of and fully understand the laws regarding Black Powder Firearms in your area.

Illinois and Washington State: We will ship to a local FFL Dealer of your choice.


Michigan and Maryland: Revolvers may not be shipped; all other Black Powder Firearms are OK with the exceptions of Annapolis and Baltimore.

 

SHIPPING TO AN FFL DEALER: The buyer assumes the responsibility for transfer fees or background check fees that the receiving dealer MAY charge. It is also the buyer's responsibility to ensure that the dealer will accept the firearm(s). The buyer must contact the dealer before we transfer the Black Powder Firearm to them for pick-up to insure that there are no problems with your transfer. If the dealer refuses to accept delivery of your firearm, you will be responsible for shipping charges to recover the firearm and reship it to a dealer that is willing to receive it. Before we can ship a firearm, you or your dealer must provide us with a copy of their valid FFL. Their FFL can be emailed to sales@elkammo.com or faxed to 1-844-553-1123. The customer's name or order number MUST be referenced in the email or on the fax, otherwise we will have no way of knowing it is for your order.
