One of the greatest things that we at Henry Repeating Arms enjoy doing is meeting customer requests. Our customers have made us what we are today, and we’ll never forget that. We made our initial centerfire reputation with the handgun-calibered Big Boy, so it was a logical choice to expand the steel-framed case-hardened finish into that line-up, and we’ve got six hard-workin’ leveractions here that merge the classic looks of those beautifully-done case colors and octagonal barrels with the practicality of a rubber recoil pad and lighter weight than the original brass models.

Paired with a trusty revolver in the same caliber, or as a stand-alone trail partner, the rifle takes to a saddle scabbard like it was born there, and the carbine carries just as trim through the brush on foot as it does in and out of the truck or Jeep. These steel Big Boys are also drilled and tapped for scope mounts, and coupled with our dependable smooth actions and built-in accuracy, they’re every bit as good on the Fall hunt as they are on Saturday afternoon paper at the range.

Put some color in your life today, and make sure it says “Henry” on the barrel.

This Henry was way better that I expected! I love the case hardened finish, just feels more solid than the standard brass or silver finish that is more common to the Henry BigBoy rifles. I love they kept the traditional octagon barrel with this one too- definitely has that that look of a traditional/authentic Henry rifle and pairs well with my Ruger Old Vaquero in case hardened as well. The deep walnut stocks are solid and beautiful on this rifle. It fires very accurately with hardly any effort at 50 yd with the iron sights right out of the box. The action is super smooth, and the rifle has virtually no recoil for a 45LC round. And like my Ruger, it is super fun to shoot! Breakdown/cleaning is pretty easy as well, although you do have to get familar with the different screws and pieces if you are doing a complete teardown, but you can find all the videos for disassembly/cleaning/reassembly on the Henry website. No matter how you plan to store this rifle, invest in a gun sock to keep the finish of the gun and wood beautiful. Special thanks to Elk Co. Ammo & Arms for being very friendly and responsive every step of the way.
